Winning the WAGS tournament when I was a junior in High School (HBC Fury: Huntington, NY) was one of the first big accomplishments of my soccer career. In the championship game we played against our arch rivals, the Bethesda Dragons, and won 5-4 in penalty kicks. It was a long weekend full of competitive soccer and the electric atmosphere of competing in a truly inspirational event. Every day I walk into the Maryland Soccerplex I can still see our championship brick engraved with my team name commemorating that special experience forever. It’s a pretty cool thing.
