The Head Coach opted to read a statement he prepared for this hearing. He started by mentioning that his team has received numerous Sportsmanship awards, and that this situation was unusual for them. He continued by explaining a red card he received this season. He felt the Center Referee ( CR ) in a dangerous play had not protected his goalkeeper; therefore he was red carded for dissent. He cited that he was very frustrated because in his opinion he felt the CR had failed to protect his GK. He explained that they were faced with a similar situation during the Spring ’04 season. He received a yellow card for dissent as well. Regardless, he takes full responsability for all Penalty Points his team received. When asked by one of the Committee members about a CR report that accused him of throwing and hitting the CR with a pen, he acknowledged doing so.
