Match Protest:  Game #2132 GSC Team America Select vs. MCLN MPS United

GSC Team America Protested Misapplication on FIFA Law 6.6- Assistant Referee

The Committee heard testimony from the GSC Team America Select and MCLN MPS United beginning at 7:30pm

It was the testimony of the GSC coach that a parent who had a player on the MCLN team was a used as a certified AR for the above mentioned game. The coach referred to WAGS Rule I.5 stating that both coaches must agree on an emergency referee.  He stated that the AR in question influenced the center referees decision in overturning a GSC penalty kick. In the beginning, the center referee asked for volunteer parents to act as emergency ARs. from both teams.  The GSC Coach also stated that the Center Referee stated that he was using the emergency referee in a certified capacity.  This means that he was permitted to call offside, etc. The GSC Coach then approached the MCLN Manager, stating that he was playing the game under protest because he did not agree to the emergency AR.   The MCLN Manager stated that she was not part of the decision making regarding the AR.  The only communication she had with GSC was when the coach approached her stating that he was playing under protest.  She also stated that a goal was called back by the referee in question when he made an offside call. The certified AR involved in this protest stated that he was approached by the center referee stating that the VA assignor had added him to the list of referees assigned to this game.  He also stated, after asked by a committee member, if he knew the rules regarding referring a game when an immediate family member was a player.  He stated that he did not know that rule.

DECISION:

The R & D Committee unanimously voted that that as per WAGS Rule I.5, an emergency referee must be agreed upon by both team.

Game #2132 will be replayed in its entirety.

Prior to hearing testimony, the GSC Team America Select was informed they have the right to appeal the decision of the WAGSL R & D Committee according to WAGS Rule O, "Protests and Appeals Procedures".

Match Protest:  Game #1329 OLNY Tornadoes vs. VYS Red Hot Chille Peppers

OLNY Tornadoes protested Equal Halves FIFA Law 7

The Committee heard testimony from OLNY Tornadoes and VYS Red Hot Chille Peppers.

The OLNY Coach stated that the center referee lost control of the game from the beginning.  The OLNY coach began calling offsides and the referee had to stop play to ask the coach to be quiet.  The referee then approached the

VYS coach to speak with her.  The center referee began the game after a short stoppage in play.  After having to approach the OLNY coach once again, he ended the half prior to the 30 minute mark.  The OLNY Coach stated that he stopped it with five (5) minutes left.  The VYS coach stated that there was 2 minutes left.  Both representatives stated that neither team agreed to the shortened half.
