Officers Report:

Treasurer:  Mike stated that all fees for the tournament are in.  The apparel will arrive in several weeks.

MSYSA:  MSYSA is currently accepting applications for a Boy’s ODP Head Coach.

Secretary:    Pat Lusk is the chairperson for a committee to set criteria for new club entry.  If you are interested on sitting on that committee please contact Pat.

R & D Director:    If coaches are asked to leave the field of play, they have been ejected.  They do NOT need to be shown a card.

Also thanked the committee for all of their hard work.  The core of the committee has been together for over 5 years.

Celeste Szewcyk:  Celeste, ARL Club Rep is the committee chairperson for fields.  She is asking for 4 volunteers for the committee from Maryland.  She currently has volunteers from VA.

Administrator:  Robin reviewed the following with the membership:

SAT Dates   November 1.  Games will be played after 2:00pm if possible.

Due to the WWC game on Sept. 21, and the WAGS Tournament weekend, there will be more Saturday games.  Average 2-3 Saturday games depending on number of teams in the division.

Manual Changes:

v        Delete PWSI Premier from U17D2

v        Delete TSC Thunder from U-17D3

v        Change the U-18D2 division coordinator to Terri Anderson.  An email will go to all of the teams affected.

v        Delete FREE Shockwave U-17D1

v        Delete HERN Pride U-163

v        Delete U-12D4 TSC Red Storm

v        Delete GSC Team America U-11 Teal

Coaching Conflicts:  It was impossible to de-conflict 100% of the coaching conflicts.  In most cases 99% of the conflicts were resolved.  In some cases, however, a coach may have 1-2 conflicts.  In very rare instances there may be 2-3.

Fields:  Several clubs did not supply sufficient fields (one for every 4 WAGS/NCSL teams).

Demosphere: Many of the Club Reps requested the following on their club rep page:  Field loading; team contact information and field permits.  Robin will contact Demosphere to have this information posted.

President’s Report:

Women’s World Cup Opening Ceremony:  WAGS was contacted by the WUSA regarding 18 players and 2 coaches participating in the WWC Opening Ceremonies on Sept. 21 at RFK Stadium.  The teams must be U-11 through U-14.  Kathie stated that she wanted clubs entered into a drawing based on the following criteria:  superior record at meetings, their service to WAGS, active on at least one committee/tournament.  The club chosen to participate in the festivities was DCST.  They will receive 20 tickets to attend the game.

Team Availability:  All teams need to be available every Saturday and Sunday during the season.  Just because a team has a “bye” in the original schedule does not mean that that date will not be used for a rescheduled match.  The only exception will be a scheduling request submitted by the teams.

Scores:

All game scores must be called in to the division coordinator within 2 hours of completion of the match. The only exception would be a game which is completed by 6:00 PM-6:30 PM must be phoned in no later than 7:00 PM.  When calling in the scores, leave your age group, division, game number and scores for BOTH teams.

WAGS Newsletter:  WAGS is trying to put a newsletter together to be distributed four (4) times per year.  Once a year, it will be distributed to all players in WAGS.  Anyone with marketing background that would like to contribute some ideas of how to offset the cost of this endeavor, please contact Kathie.

Future of WAGS:  WAGS will be hosting a weekend for the Future of WAGS.  Included in this are a Mission Statement and a 5 year business plan.  Kathie will contact individuals chosen to participate in this planning meeting at a later date.

Referee No-Show:

If you do not have a referee at your match, follow directions in rule I. 5 Referee No-show. Do not call Kathie or Robin as they are not certified and are unable to officiate your match......nor would you want them to.

Kids Safe Fees:  Due to the fact the Kid Safe Fees were collected this season also, each club will receive a credit of $36.00 per team for next season’s registration (Spring 2003).  If the teams that entered in the league this season (Fall 2003) were a brand new team (never played or carded), they will not receive a refund.

Forfeits: Please refer to the link on the web site, “WAGS Procedures for Forfeits”.

Rain:  If it rains and WAGS is unable to complete the season, divisions will be decided by a “points per game” system as in past seasons.  This rule will be submitted as a rule change at the next Club Rep meeting.

With no further business the meeting was adjourned.

                                                                                    Respectfully Submitted

                                                                                    Robin Miller,

WAGS League Administrator
