Treasurer Kathie reviewed the WAGS Financial Statement with the Membership in Bob's absence. The 2001 Year end payroll information returns filing are almost complete and will be filed by January 31. The independent audit for the year ended 6/30/01 is in progress. The tax return for the year ended 6/30/01 is in progress. All tournament financial information through 12/31/01 is complete. The tournament still has additional receipts (hotel rebates) and expenses to be added before the final results will be known. The contribution to the 911 Fund has been sent.
Secretary Mike reminded all Maryland teams that the Cup applications are due on February 12. The MSYSA web site is under construction so be patient. The MSYSA workshop is March 10th at Towson State. The Adele Dolansky Scholarships are due into the WAGS Office on May 1st. Applications are on line.
R & D Director Lula stated that there was a large increase in cards in the Fall especially in the U-11 age group.
Virginia VP Walt attended several seminars at the NSCAA Convention. One of the sessions was regarding Top Soccer. If anyone is interested in becoming involved with Top Soccer, they may contact Walt for further information. He also attended a Performance Training Session.
Administrator Robin reminded everyone of the forms that were due on January 29th. The WAGS Office will have a new email address sometime in February. The address is wagslsoccer@comcast.net. The field forms are now available. Club Reps are to call the WAGS Office if they need their password.
President Kathie brought back the paperwork and trophies that were not picked up from the November meeting. If the club reps do not pick them up this evening they will be disposed of.
Referees Anyone interested in participating in the referee incentive program must have their sizes to Kathie no later than January 30th.
Roster Pro Kathie was notified that several Virginia teams have not entered their fall information in the Roster Pro database. If this is not completed ASAP, those teams will not be placed in division structure for the Spring 2002 season. Registrars will be contacting those teams individually.
Positive Coaching Alliance Because of potential conflicts with the Positive Coaching Alliance workshops, and some local tournaments, we will be holding the second session during the season on a weeknight. It is MANDATORY that all U-11 coaches and coaches with teams coming off the wait list attend. We will also be holding a leadership conference in the spring for club reps.
New Club Acceptance The Membership voted unanimously to accept the Burke Athletic Club into WAGS.
